Will this work with the ABC/XYZ mod?

I have no idea.

Will this work with Skyrim vers...?

Let me stop you there. This mod has only been tested with AE 1.6.640. I cannot confirm its compatibility with other versions. For up-to-date information, check nexusmods.

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes, you do. An internet connection is required if you wish to communicate with the AI characters. However, you don't need to be continuously connected. If you're not using the AI characters, you're not required to be connected (and you're not connected by default).

Will it work with other dialogue mods? And how to have conversation?

This mod doesn't remove Skyrim's default conversation settings in favor of gameplay, instead, I allow user to engage in textual and voice discussion directly upon their request. Just press Y to connect to character and once you are connected (will write that character is listening you), either press and hold to V or press to U for communicating with the character.

Is this mod always connected to the internet, even when I'm not conversing with AI characters?

No, it isn't. The mod establishes a connection only when you initiate a conversation with characters. This accounts for the minimal delay during the initial connection.

What about delays? Does it take a long time to receive responses?

No, it doesn't. However, I should note that the system waits for AI characters to "finish" their thoughts completely. This means the mod displays text and plays audio only after receiving the full textual, audio response, and other data. This limitation is due to Skyrim's implementation, which doesn't support streaming. Actual communication within the Inworld Portal should be much faster. (And perhaps, in the future, I can explore ways to introduce streaming to Skyrim as well.)

Do I need to pay for anything? Is this mod free?

The mod is completely free and open-source. No payment is required. While you do need an Inworld account, Inworld offers free-tier access that provides ample interaction time for you to enjoy the mod without charge. If you wish to enhance your experience, you can consider upgrading your subscription level. Please note that I am not responsible for this aspect, so kindly refer to Inworld's pricing policy here. Please don't send DMs about this to me.

Wait, can't we use local LLMs?

Technically, you can. However, this mod is not designed for that purpose. Its aim is to reach as many people as possible, and many individuals may not possess the necessary hardware to run small-sized LLMs, let alone sophisticated ones.

Will I still be billed if I don't interact with the characters for a while?

No, you won't. Conversations become idle if you don't engage with them, and this idle time will not be billed to you. Reconnecting may take a few additional milliseconds. Remember, being rude is unnecessary – speak up!

Can I use another language? (Spanish, Russian, Turkish, etc.)

No, you can't. Currently, Inworld only supports English. However, they plan to introduce support for additional languages in the near future.

Can I communicate with characters when I'm not in the game?

Absolutely. You can access your Inworld portal and continue interactions with the characters there. Once you run the mod for the first time, it will create the characters for you.

Can I add more characters?

Certainly. Refer to the advanced features section to learn how this can be accomplished.

What about ElevenLabs?

This mod does not include an ElevenLabs API key or any voice materials. If you're interested in that aspect, you'll need to sign up for ElevenLabs and utilize your own voice data.

Isn't voice cloning bad?

I don't know, you tell me. xVASynth for Skyrim exists for last 3 years, downloaded by more than 500,000 people.

PS: Mod doesn't work out of the box with xVASynth but if someone wants to make a version, I would welcome it.

Do I need to use my own voice to play the mod?

No. You can also use textbox.

Can I silence the AI charactes so that they won't kill my immersion?

Yes. Set config flag (DISABLE_VOICE) on .env to true. (By default it's false)

Do the characters have awareness of their surroundings?

No, this version doesn't include such a feature.

Can I undertake quests?

Not at the moment. Currently, characters are available solely for conversations. In the future, I may expand this functionality using Inworld's Goals & Actions system to incorporate actions.

I am a mod owner. Can I make this mod compatible with my own mod?
